Walter Zenger(M'84) was born in Munich, Germany. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering) from Fachhochschule Munich, Germany in 1972

His employment experience in Germany included BEW Munich, Isar-Amperwerke Munich and Kaiser Aluminium Kabelwerke Berlin. In 1984 he joined Cablec / BICC Cables, West Nyack as Manager of Developpment Engineering. From 1991 to 1995 he managed the profit center for high voltage cable accessories of Alcatel Kabel in Duisburg, Germany.

Since 1996 he has been with EPRI and is presently Technical Leader of the Underground Transmission Program and manager o the EPRI Cable Testing Network (ECTN). He is currently managing research projects for underground transmission and distribution.

Mr. Zenger is a mamber of the IEEE Power Engineering Society, Insuated Conductors Committee and US representative of CIGRE Study Committee B1 Insulated Cables. Mr. Zenger can be contacted at wzenger@epri.com.
